We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our finance team. As an Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial records, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax laws. This position requires strong analytical skills, a methodical approach to financial management, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of our financial reporting.


Core Responsibilities

  1. Financial Reporting and Compliance
    • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Ensure timely compliance with all tax reporting, filing, and payment obligations.
    • Maintain compliance with government reporting requirements.
    • Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Analyze financial data to support management in making economic decisions.
    • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for annual audits.
    • Review financial reports for accuracy and completeness.
    • Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial systems.
    • Perform variance analysis and recommend corrective actions as necessary.

  2. Account Management and Operations:
    • Oversee all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and adherence to financial policies.
    • Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
    • Manage monthly payroll operations, compliant with all applicable labor laws.
    • Support annual budgeting and strategic planning processes.
    • Handle financial management of new and completed projects, including project-specific account administration.
    • Document and monitor internal controls and support financial audits through thorough documentation and record-keeping.
    • Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure proper tracking and accounting of capital assets.

  3. Cash Management:
    • Monitor daily cash positions and execute necessary treasury functions to optimize cash flow.
    • Prepare and analyze cash flow forecasts to inform management decisions.
    • Manage and optimize bank relationships and agreements, ensuring favorable terms.
    • Develop strategies to enhance the organization’s liquidity and financial position.
    • Oversee inter-company financial transactions, including billing and cash transfers.

  4. Policy Development and Process Improvement:
    • Evaluate and enhance accounting systems and procedures to support organizational growth and efficiency.
    • Lead software and system upgrades to improve financial reporting and operational effectiveness.
    • Develop and refine business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls and compliance.
    • Provide leadership and training to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
    • Stay informed of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
  • Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
  • Experience with accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities.
