We are seeking a reliable and experienced Dump Truck Driver to transport materials between various job sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating heavy vehicles, particularly dump trucks, and will be well-versed in safety regulations and vehicle maintenance. This role is critical in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of materials, contributing directly to the success of our construction projects.
Core Responsibilities
- Material Handling
- Load the truck with materials and unload them in designated areas.
- Transport materials safely over long distances, adhering to the planned routes.
- Move materials between different sites as required by the project schedule.
- Vehicle Maintenance
- Perform daily vehicle checks, including tires, oil, water, lights, brakes, gas, and other fluids, ensuring the truck is in optimal working condition.
- Clean the truck after each use to maintain cleanliness and functionality.
- Safety and Compliance
- Verify material weight to ensure compliance with load regulations.
- Promptly report any accidents, injuries, or mechanical issues to management and troubleshoot minor issues when possible.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of material deliveries and pickups.
- Ensure that all necessary documentation related to the truck and its operations is up to date.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform additional tasks as required to support the operations department and the organization.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, Vocational Diploma, or Short Course Certificate.
- Valid driver’s license with 1, 2, and 3 restrictions.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Proven experience operating a standard dump truck for at least 3 years.
- Working knowledge of construction site safety, truck maintenance, and road safety regulations.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
